In July 2002, I flew to Switzerland for a few days, followed by a cruise up the Rhine river through Germany. Switzerland was definitely my favorite part of the trip. The scenery was incomparable. I loved every part of it. However if I had to pick a favorite moment, it would be dinner at the hotel in Lucerne. I was staying in a converted chateau that looked like a castle, perched on the side of a hill overlooking old town. The sun was setting and I dined outside on a patio, overlooking the city. The food and wine was superb. If you ever go to Lucerne, try the Chateau Gutsch. It's worth every penny.
