On September 18th in 1996 I stood on the south rim of the Grand Canyon in awe.

I was on a trip driving to Dallas and decided to take a quick stop along the way to see the canyon. I spent several hours just sitting on the rim, overwhelmed by its scale, contemplating its depths. On that day I told myself that I would one day return and see it from the bottom. Six years later, almost to the day, I've fulfilled that dream.

There's another reason I mention that first trip, because it is also the first time I started taking pictures. So the Grand Canyon marked a beginning in a number of ways for me. This web site and all the photos on it would not be here if it weren't for those initial pictures. I'm also convinced that I wouldn't have traveled near as much if I hadn't started taking these photos.
