Over the last two years I've been to Washington DC twice, visiting friends and exploring the capital. Thanks Paul and Jeff for the hospitality both times! On both occasions I found the city very picturesque. There aren't very many places in the United States where there are so many stunning buildings. However I also found the city to feel very cold and sterile. In particular, the Capitol building seemed dead, even though there were lots of people and activity going on. Kind of interesting when you consider that it's the heart of our government.

In any event, I thoroughly enjoyed both trips and look forward to visiting again and again, trying to get even better shots. Besides the history, besides the fact that it provides some incredible photo opportunities, I think everyone should visit the DC area, just to feel closer to our government. See the monuments and memorials, feel the sacrifice that they are commemorating. I'm glad I did.
